Nick Vujicic
Nick Vujicic ... his faith is a big part of what keeps him going. But, I watched the video, and it wasn't faith. It was the incredible, indomitable, human spirit that I saw. We're capable of incredible feats. I can't imagine living Nick Vujicic's life -- but he is inspirational.

Stupid Americans ...
... and also stupid women. There is so much hate in these women, that they're willing to give up on a man who is a firm supporter of women's rights, in order to support a man who doesn't care about them. The more I see people like this, the more I'm glad Clinton didn't win -- because these are the voters she attracted.
At least they were outnumbered at this rally -- and confronted by an articulate, rational young woman. There's still hope for America -- not in Obama -- but in the voters the young woman represent.

JCPenny Commercial
This commercial is apparently not being played on US TV. Because in America, teens don't want sex -- they want to go off an die in Iraq -- this from the parental generation that brought us "make love, not war." I guess after free love, they grew up and found religion.

Daylight Robbery - What Happened to the $23billion?
An investigation by BBC One's Panorama estimates the amount of money stolen, lost or just not properly accounted for in Iraq could be as high as $23billion.
For the first time the extent to which some private contractors have profited from the conflict and rebuilding has been researched by Panorama using United States and Iraqi government sources.
Based on information from these sources, the programme can reveal that as much as $23billion is not properly accounted for in Iraq.
In the run-up to the invasion one of the most senior officials in charge of procurement in the Pentagon objected to a contract potentially worth $7billion that was given to Halliburton, a Texan company with links to the White House. Unusually only Halliburton got to bid – and won.
Bunnie Greenhouse, a former US Army Procurement Executive, was assured by Pentagon officials the imminent invasion justified the lack of competition.
"It was absolutely the most blatant disregard for the federal procurement law I had ever seen in all the years I have worked in government contracting," she says.
During the course of her investigation, reporter Jane Corbin discovers that 70 cases exposing fraud and waste in Iraq are gagged by the US government – preventing the American public knowing the real scale of the problem and the involvement of some of the biggest names in corporate America.

The tragedy of suburbia
In James Howard Kunstler's view, public spaces should be inspired centers of civic life and the physical manifestation of the common good. Instead, he argues, what we have in America is a nation of places not worth caring about.

The Politics of Lies
Obama will lose only if the American people are stupid enough to not want to hear the truth, but would rather wallow in their only self-denial. Since the American people have demonstrated this capacity previously (twice elected Bush), there's a good chance Obama will lose.
The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams
Professor Randy Pausch delivered the Last Lecture at Carnegie Mellon University on Sept. 18, 2007. The Last Lecture series asks preeminent individuals to give a lecture on things that really matter to them -- to imagine that it is the last talk they would ever give, because they would die afterwards. For Randy Pausch, the last lecture was not just a hyperbole -- he has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. In August of 2007, he was given six more months to live.
As of today, Randy Pausch is still alive.
The lecture is over an hour long, but give it a try. Full transcript can be found here [PDF].

Obama Speech: 'A More Perfect Union'
Full text of this speech, one of the most powerful speeches Obama has made in this campaign, can be found Huffington Post. In this speech, Obama addresses the issues of race in America.
Update: And Jon Stewart had this to say about the speech:
Updated: Here is Jeremiah A. Wright's full speech. In context, you can understand why the man is pissed.
We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we're indignant -- because the stuff we've done overseas is now brought back into our own front yard. America's chickens are coming home to roost. Violence begets violence. Hatred begets hatred. And terrorism begets terrorism. This is not the sound bites that makes it on the nightly news.

Dumb Americans are Scary
These are dumb Americans. Religion has been proven to rot your brain and cause independent thought to cease. Proof is in the video. Be forewarned however ... it's a frightening vid. Put the kids to bed first. Turn on all the lights. Pause the video repeatedly to allow yourself time to overcome the nausea.

Hilary says "Thank you"
Not that I don't like Hilary Clinton or anything -- actually, I really don't, but that's besides the point. What I would like to point out here is that people went to her site in the last little while and gave her $10 million. It's incredible. It's incredible, because worthwhile causes struggle to raise a fraction of that, yet the sheep throw their wallets at politicians. There's something wrong when it takes so much money to run a political campaign. It's also ironic that the people who donated to Clinton, were probably doing so using credit cards. Yes, American debt is funding putting its politicians in power.
Hilary also confirmed my worst fears in this video. She says she will work "24/7" -- "every waking hour" to help the poor Americans who can't afford health care or the money to own a home (yet managed to donate to her campaign?). Clinton doesn't sleep. She isn't human. She's a politician.
BTW, poor Americans ... if you didn't donate to her campaign ... who did? And guess who gets to curry favour from her if she's elected?
